First, let’s define what is meditation? Meditation is consciously focusing your attention for a period of time. It is a process when a person is guiding her/his focus in a specific way: directing it to promote health, personal development and spiritual growth. The only way to overcome this short term gain/ long term loss cycle is to switch sides to the External Pain / Internal Pleasure side. The external pain of saying no to comfort foods, exercising and limiting portion sizes comes with the internal pleasure of happiness, self-confidence, positive feelings and increased physical health.
This happens with both young boys and girls and can have a major impact on personal confidence and self belief. Children tend to want to fit in and be the same as everyone else. This is why uniform brands are so popular – they help form a group bonding mentality. Additionally, they report that the emotional mood of people suffering from this disorder begins to be affected around four o’clock in the evening with the average number of wake up times to be about three occurrences during the night.
Night time eating falls under the umbrella of emotional eating disorders. There are different types of eaters such as the bored eater who may eat a few snacks to distract themselves, those who may snack because of the texture of the food which may help them stay focused on a project or snacking that involves someone that is suffering from some type of emotional pain. If you aren’t eating throughout the day make it a goal to do so. Eating plenty of fruit before meals will also stop you from eating more than you bargained for on the mail meal or searching for that extra something afterwards. You will be surprised what 4-5 pieces of fruit beforehand can do for your appetite. Try to eat the fruit roughly half an hour before for best digestion.
Take care of yourself. Learn more about eating disorders through different resources available in books, the media and on the internet.Such knowledge can make you understand your condition and recover faster. It is very important to note that recovery from this habit is completely possible. But while it may begin with a preoccupation with food, shape, and weight, it becomes about much more than food. Sufferers most often use food and the control of food in an attempt to compensate for feelings and emotions that may otherwise seem too overwhelming.
It is clear that media advertising increases pressure to become thinner, more perfect, and to conform to one ideal. Body image distortion begins to grow as she continues to compare herself to others and creates more and more unrealistic expectations of self. On an even more dangerous note, poor body image has the potential to grow and flourish into an eating disorder. I recommend that you get some help from both a physician and counselor to help you deal with the root issues that are usually physical, emotional and spiritual. Once you receive healing from past pain and learn how to deal with your present relationships and circumstances you will find that you can also become consistent in the areas where you now only experience failure.
